Ground Turkey and Veggie Mushroom Cap Pizza Recipe

  1. 4 large portobello mushroom caps stems removed
  2.  ½  green pepper chopped finely
  3.  ½  red bell pepper chopped finely
  4.  ½  small onion chopped finely
  5.  8 Tbsp  walden farms pasta sauce
  6.  2 tsp  Italian seasoning
  7.  2 tsp  garlic and herb salt
  8.  4 slices of 60 calorie marble jack sliced cheese
  9.  4 tsp  Kraft grated Parmesan cheese
  10.  ½  pound ground turkey  season with a little pizza seasoning spice


Preheat oven to 400

Brown ground turkey with about a tablespoon  of pizza seasoning.  Dice veggies, and remove stems and scrape the inside of the mushroom caps. Spray a little olive oil non stick spray on both sides of mushroom caps and lightly salt and pepper them.  Put in oven  cap side up on a baking sheet for approximately 5 minutes.  Remove mushroom caps from oven turn caps over to cap side down and add 2 tablespoons of pasta sauce to each cap.  Then sprinkle  ½  tsp Italian seasoning and ½  teaspoon  of garlic herb seasoned salt to top of sauce, 2 ounces of seasoned ground turkey to each cap.  Then add chopped veggies, sprinkle  teaspoon Parmesan cheese to each cap and top with 1 piece of sliced marble jack cheese.  Return to oven for approximately 20- 25 minutes.
